Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the gained 0.46%.
The best performers of the session on the were America Movil SAB de CV M (BMV:), which rose 2.09% or 0.30 points to trade at 14.63 at the close. Meanwhile, GCC SAB de CV (BMV:) added 1.76% or 3.24 points to end at 187.76 and Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (BMV:) was up 1.20% or 2.11 points to 177.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:), which fell 2.06% or 7.05 points to trade at 335.01 at the close. Regional SAB de CV (BMV:) declined 1.31% or 1.54 points to end at 116.30 and Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV:) was down 1.17% or 2.00 points to 169.20.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 135 to 70 and 19 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.71% or 18.60 to $2,654.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.73% or 0.51 to hit $69.59 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.49% or 0.36 to trade at $72.81 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.32% to 20.21, while EUR/MXN rose 0.49% to 21.07.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 107.88.
