Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the rose 1.01%.
The best performers of the session on the were Totvs SA (BVMF:), which rose 7.37% or 2.13 points to trade at 31.04 at the close. Meanwhile, Pet Center Comercio e Partcipacoes (BVMF:) added 6.34% or 0.26 points to end at 4.36 and Hapvida Participacoes e Investimentos (BVMF:) was up 5.95% or 0.15 points to 2.67 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ambev SA (BVMF:), which fell 3.29% or 0.47 points to trade at 13.80 at the close. Vale SA (BVMF:) declined 1.56% or 0.93 points to end at 58.84 and Azul SA Pref (BVMF:) was down 1.55% or 0.07 points to 4.44.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 487 to 485 and 37 ended unchanged.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 5.23% to 29.70.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.26% or 34.36 to $2,752.76 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 2.46% or 1.69 to hit $70.28 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract fell 4.34% or 14.49 to trade at $319.66 .
USD/BRL was down 1.50% to 5.95, while EUR/BRL fell 1.81% to 6.25.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 106.35.
