Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the fell 1.44%.
The best performers of the session on the were Solvay SA (EBR:), which rose 1.70% or 0.52 points to trade at 31.13 at the close. Meanwhile, Azelis Corporate Services NV (EBR:) added 1.11% or 0.20 points to end at 18.22 and Melexis NV (EBR:) was down 0.26% or 0.15 points to 56.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Umicore SA (EBR:), which fell 2.92% or 0.31 points to trade at 10.29 at the close. Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (EBR:) declined 2.62% or 1.38 points to end at 51.28 and Syensqo SA (EBR:) was down 2.43% or 1.75 points to 70.17.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 76 to 19 and 15 ended unchanged.
Shares in Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (EBR:) fell to 52-week lows; losing 2.62% or 1.38 to 51.28.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.37% or 9.79 to $2,652.39 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.22% or 0.15 to hit $69.09 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.18% or 0.13 to trade at $72.61 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.16% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 107.00.
